This elegant textile originates from Japan’s late Showa period (1960–1980) and is a refined example of the era's sophisticated weaving traditions. Measuring 14 inches by 61 inches (36 cm x 155 cm), the panel is crafted from a vintage omeshi silk, possibly blended with rayon to enhance its durability and sheen. The fabric features a beautiful russet orange-brown shade and is characterized by a very smooth texture and a graceful drape, remaining in excellent condition.

The visual narrative is composed of a series of diamond-shaped card motifs, known as shikishi, which contain delicate, miniature landscape scenes. These cards are linked by trailing kikyo (bellflower) vines that meander vertically across the russet ground. In Japanese culture, the bellflower is one of the "Seven Flowers of Autumn," symbolizing unchanging love and honesty. The motifs are rendered in a soft, monochromatic cream and pale gold, creating a subtle, shimmering effect against the warm earthy base.
