This elegant silk sari originates from India and dates to the mid-20th century, specifically 1950–1975. Measuring 44 inches by 180 inches (112 cm x 457 cm), the textile is in very good condition. The sari features a delicate and airy aesthetic, characterized by a soft salmon-pink and sage-green palette.
The textile is adorned with intricate mirrorwork embroidery (shisha), a traditional Indian technique where small pieces of reflective glass are secured to the fabric with decorative stitching. The body of the sari is defined by horizontal salmon-pink stripes on a translucent silk base, while the pallu (the decorative end piece) and borders are finished in sage green. These green sections are further embellished with vertical registers of cream-colored paisley (boteh) motifs, each meticulously outlined and highlighted with reflective mirrors that catch and disperse light.
