This striking silk sari originates from India and dates to the later part of the 20th century, approximately 1950–1975. Measuring 44 inches by 180 inches (112 cm x 457 cm), the textile is in very good condition. The sari is characterized by a vibrant and modern aesthetic, dominated by a saturated seafoam green body and a bold, graphic border.
The most prominent feature of this textile is the large-scale Ikat pattern decorating the lower half. This labor-intensive technique involves tie-dyeing the threads before they are woven, resulting in the signature "blurred" or feathered edges of the motifs. The pattern consists of concentric, eye-like diamond shapes in shades of cream, brown, and green, which create a powerful sense of visual rhythm. The field is framed by a minimalist cream border featuring a subtle grid-like "check" pattern, while the base is finished with a solid chocolate-brown band that grounds the high-energy design.
