He is depicted in a wooded setting, accompanied by a small hound leaping at his side and a rabbit nestled in the foliage behind him.

The panel demonstrates a sophisticated combination of techniques: the figure, animals, and floral foreground are worked in fine petitpoint for precise detail, while the surrounding trees and the terracotta-red background are executed in gros point. Measuring 18 inches by 18 inches (46 cm x 46 cm), the textile is in fair condition. It displays significant markers of age and historical use, including a missing upper-left corner and notable structural damage at the junctures where the gros and petit-point embroidery meet.
