The primary design features a rhythmic, diagonal arrangement of large-scale botanical and geometric motifs. Sizable, stylized blossoms in cream and soft ochre are interspersed with bold manji (swastika) patterns, an ancient auspicious symbol representing harmony and prosperity in Japanese culture. These motifs are rendered with the characteristic blurred edges of the meisen technique, where the threads are resist-dyed before weaving to create a painterly, "shimmering" effect.
