This exquisite loomed runner, originating from Continental Europe during the mid-19th century (1825–1875), is a brilliant example of Victorian-era luxury textile production. Measuring 52 inches by 16 inches (132 cm by 41 cm), the piece is constructed on a highly reflective sky-blue satin backdrop that serves as a luminous field for the intricate patterns. The runner is reinforced with a sturdy linen backing and remains in excellent condition.

The central design features a series of four large, symmetrical architectural cartouches woven with gold metallic threads and accented with small, red and pink satin-stitch flowers. These central motifs are framed by a continuous, wide border of scrolling golden acanthus leaves and filigree.
