This banner is from an old temple near Nagoya. It features repeating woven dragon motifs, and prominent mon (family crest) patchwork appliques. The material of this banner seems to be a silk-cotton mix. It seems to be from Meiji period(1868-1912) or earlier, but we are not about it age.Good condition: It has several tears in one end ( approx 5" - 12" apart), stitches in the center hem are coming loose and there are slight smudges in the white mon appliques. 25" x 183".(about 2/3 of textile is contained in the images.
