This exquisite silk embroidery panel originates from Bukhara, Uzbekistan, a historic center renowned for its sophisticated textile traditions, and dates to 2000–2005. Measuring 48 inches by 25 inches (122 cm x 64 cm), this vertical artwork is in excellent condition. The piece is meticulously hand-stitched with silk thread on a cream cotton base, utilizing a complex palette derived entirely from natural dyes.
The composition features a series of three large, mirrored blooming shrubs that grow vertically up the central axis. Each shrub is characterized by pointed, multi-tonal leaves in deep indigo blue and madder red, accented with delicate white "triplet" patterns. The master dyer utilized a traditional Central Asian botanical toolkit: indigo for the blues, madder for the reds, sumac for the maroons, and a combination of pomegranate skin and turmeric for the yellow highlights. The deep browns and blacks are achieved through walnut skins and barberries. The field is framed by a continuous floral vine border featuring red star-shaped blossoms and green scrolling foliage.
