This vibrant export wall hanging originates from India and dates to the latter half of the 20th century, approximately 1950–2000. Measuring 35 inches by 62 inches (89 cm x 157 cm), the textile is in excellent condition and is backed with a durable white cotton panel for structural support. The entire surface is decorated with dense, laborious chain-stitch embroidery, creating a rich, textured "rug-like" finish.
The composition features a lively pictorial narrative set within a stylized wetland landscape. The scene is populated by various species of birds, including ducks and geese, depicted in flight against a sky-blue background and gathered among reeds and lotus blossoms in a pale-colored pond. Small fish are also visible swimming in the lower foreground. The palette is soft yet diverse, utilizing shades of rose-pink, sage-green, ochre, and pale blue, all outlined with dark thread to define the whimsical, folk-art silhouettes of the flora and fauna.
