This exquisite Art Nouveau-style brocade runner dates to the early 20th century (1900–1925). Measuring 16 inches by 49.5 inches (41 cm x 126 cm), the textile is in excellent condition and showcases the sophisticated aesthetic of Belgium, France, or Italy, where the Art Nouveau movement flourished. The design is expertly woven onto a lustrous black cotton or cotton/silk sateen ground, providing a high-contrast foundation for the intricate patterns.

The runner features four large, interconnected diamond-shaped medallions, each containing a stylized floral motif rendered in shimmering gold and soft blue threads. Surrounding these central medallions are secondary motifs of scrolling foliage and delicate floral sprays that fill the dark field, mirroring the organic, flowing lines characteristic of European "Whiplash" design. The entire composition is framed by a complex geometric border and finished with edges elegantly bound in gold silk threads, which enhances the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of the piece.
