This elegant brocade panel, originating from Western Europe during the second half of the 19th century (1850–1900), is a refined example of late Victorian textile design. Measuring 27 inches in width and 7.5 inches in height (69 cm x 19 cm), the piece is crafted from a sophisticated blend of satin and metallic thread woven into a luminous cream background. The pattern features a vertical repeat of ornate, neoclassical cartouches containing blooming pink flowers and architectural scrolling foliage in shades of olive green and muted gold.

The panel is characterized by its high-contrast construction, featuring a deep yellow satin backing that provides a vibrant structural support. A traditional metallic thread brocade edging frames the piece, adding a heavy, luxurious texture to the delicate cream silk ground. While the textile is mostly in good condition, there is very slight staining on the cream background, a common sign of age for a piece of this period.
