Item Details
Late Meiji period (1880-1912)
A fine plain silk kimono featiring five formal family crests (mon) on a black background. When we purchased this kimono, the width had been taken in in order to fit a youth - we have since converted the kimono to it's iriginal width. This kimono had also been shortened by taking in about 12" of the height: we have left that reversible-hand-stitched tailoring as we found it, so one can increase the height by merely removing some stitching. Very good consition. 46" from sleeve-end to sleeve-end x 36" height
