Canton area, China Late 19th to early 20th c (1890-1910) $10,000.00 A remarkable embroidered silk bedspread, featuring a symphony of intricate silk embroidered birds on a black satin silk background.. This textile was obviously created in the same Canton-area workshops as the more common and much smaller fire-screens. The reverse side consists of a fine pink silk lining. Excellent condition on the front, with a largish stain and a few small holes on the reverse lining. The textile measure about 81" x 81" in addition to a laborious 6" black silk fringe. 2686 Contact Us About This Item:
