Japan circa 1878 $1,250.00 This is a pair to item 2300, and so would have been dedicated in the same year: 1878. Embroidered applique peonies on a red bast-fiber background. Good condition, with some tiny holes in the lower red background. 80" x 49". Peonies in Japan are a symbol of nobility.
