Japan 1950-1980 $195.00 "A medium blue vintage rinzu silk with yuzen areas of green and white. The piece is covered in very detailed silk embroidery of kiku (mums), peonies, yukiwa (snowflake - those are the rounded, scalloped frame-like areas) and leaves. There is much gold metallic thread couching. The unadorned rinzu areas of this piece are soft and have a great drape, while the embroidered and yuzen portions are stiffer due to the dyeing and the hand needlework." This textile represents a complete panel from a kimono that has been carefully taken apart and threads picked out.
